Bluebird Mountain Company LTD ("Bluebird," "we," "us," "our"), a company registered in England and Wales, United Kingdom, operates the Varda mobile application (the "App"). This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and your choices regarding your data.

1. Information We Collect

• Account identity – email address, display name, and profile photo used to create and manage your account.
• Precise location (including background location) – GPS coordinates collected while you use the App and, if you grant permission, while the App is in the background, so that friends and group members can see your real-time position on the mountain.
• Usage and diagnostics – app interactions, crash logs, and performance data that help us improve reliability.

2. How We Use Your Information

• Location sharing – displaying your position to friends and group members you choose to share with.
• Routing and navigation – providing turn-by-turn directions and optimised routes across ski resorts.
• Analytics and improvement – understanding usage patterns to improve app features and performance.
• Crash reporting – diagnosing and fixing technical issues.

3. Third-Party Services

We use trusted third-party service providers to operate the App. These include:

• Authentication providers – to manage account sign-in and identity verification.
• Cloud database services – to securely store user and group data.
• Analytics services – to collect anonymous usage analytics that help us improve the App.
• Crash reporting services – to diagnose and fix technical issues.
• Mapping and location services – to render maps and provide location-based features.
• Subscription management services – to manage subscriptions and in-app purchases. These services process your subscription status, purchase history, and anonymous device identifiers.

3A. Bluebird Mountain Routing Service

The App sends your location data to Bluebird Mountain's own backend routing service ("ski-router") to compute optimised ski and snowboard routes. This data is processed transiently for the purpose of route calculation and is not stored after the route is returned to your device.

3B. Subscription & Payment Data

If you purchase a subscription, your billing and payment information is processed directly by Apple (App Store) or Google (Google Play). Bluebird Mountain does not receive or store your credit card or payment details. Our subscription management provider receives anonymised purchase and subscription status data on our behalf to manage entitlements and provide customer support.

4. Data Retention

We retain your personal data for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the services described above. Location data shared with groups is kept only for the duration of the active session and is not stored permanently.

5. Deleting Your Data

You may request deletion of your account and associated personal data at any time by visiting our Delete Account page or by emailing info@bluebirdmountainltd.com. We will process deletion requests within 30 days.

6. Your Rights

Depending on your jurisdiction, you may have the right to access, correct, or delete your personal data, restrict or object to its processing, and request data portability. UK residents may also contact the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO) at ico.org.uk.

7. Children's Privacy

The App is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If we discover that we have collected data from a child under 13, we will delete it promptly.
